A Major Project
The Gary Carter Park project involved the renovation and design of a synthetic turf baseball field. As part of this work, a service building was constructed that includes a locker room, storage area, and restroom facilities. Since its completion, the stadium has hosted several high-profile games. The synthetic surface has doubled the number of playable hours, and the stands now accommodate 1,000 spectators seated.
The project included all sports facilities required for a Midget AAA–level installation, such as sunken player dugouts, a batting cage, a 60-foot-high protective net, bullpen enclosures, and seating for 1,500 spectators.
It also involved installing a 600V underground electrical supply, a complete sports lighting system for the baseball field, and electrical distribution for the entire site.
Shellex’s Role
Shellex was responsible for preparing the engineering plans and specifications and provided partial supervision of the work. Our civil, structural, and electrical engineering teams contributed their expertise throughout the project.
