A structural work strategy developed by Shellex
This structural rehabilitation project, carried out for a long-standing client of the firm, is a prime example of Shellex’s structural expertise in heavy industrial settings. It followed on from in-plant inspections.
Taking into account operational constraints as well as health and safety regulations, the design team developed a multi-phase work strategy and prepared reports, drawings, and specifications. Structural reinforcements and replacements of critical structural elements were carried out while the plant remained in operation and supported equipment was functioning. All work was performed using corrosion-resistant materials and repair methods suited to the chemicals present in the area.
Shellex delivered this project on a turnkey basis, including tender management, contractual oversight of subcontractors, and technical supervision of the project.
